To The Democratic Party

To the Democratic Party:

I hear so much talk from Politicians on either side saying how much they dislike money in politics, but it's the only way to win. At least when democrats say it, I believe it. They have no desire to roll over and die because the other side raised more money. We can all agree campaigning and the time spent raising money is ineffective and dirty.

So, why not, collectively, as a party refuse to accept that you are salesman begging for a buck? Refuse to accept money for SuperPAC's or large sums from individual donors. Run a campaign to win back the American people's trust in its elected officials. Tell them all they can keep their money; that it has no place in politics, and that you are not lackeys for Wall Street business men, but Politicians elected to represent the most democratic sovereign country in the world. Run a campaign to regain dignity in your profession by collectively agreeing that you will not accept an immoral practice, simply because it has been deemed legal. Deemed legal by immoral means. Refuse as a party, collectively, to stop playing games and get to work. I think the people would support you. No more 50/50 national polling. No more discussion of partisan hackery. You can't be put on display if you're not playing the game.

The fear of FEAR -- A 24hr Tactic

More and more, we are faced with a fundamental manipulation of information through Corporatocracy. Every day in the news, I read a scientific position disputed, with no merit, by a politician with a transparently accepted point of view. How can this be, in the minds of an intelligent society?

The nature of a business has evolved in a sense, specifically in America from competition to outright Darwinism. Survival of the fittest. And because of this evolution it has seeped into our stream of conscious, our ever day psyche; through mediums such as broadcast news, and mainstream journalism, in order to fulfill a singular purpose, to thrive. We have allowed, through judiciary means, a corporation to assert fundamental rights the same as a human being. And as such, we have allowed it a means to evolve in an intelligent, biological fashion. And it has.

The diversity in our food supply is shrinking daily. Our excess of use in our natural resources is dissipating rapidly. Our education system is flawed and unapologetic. We have a polarized and uncompromising congressional government that live on only one of two sides of a multifaceted discussion. These are just the beginning of a long list of facts about the current "State.. of the Union" if you will.

These may be a long list of issues, that have plagued this and other Sovereign nations, however, we have never lived in a society with access to an endless supply of information percolating at our finger tips. This is where the fear of FEAR has become such a prevalent natural resource for business to thrive. For it is in the general opinion of the public who decide what is right, and what is wrong. What is fact, and what is fiction.

The double negative has become a prevalent factor in public opinion. If I am a politician, who tells a scientist, I do no believe in your theory, as your career relies on your current point of view. That is taken with an uncertain, yet apparent merit. Even if that politician's career, relies on a Super PAC that demands they take this position. "I'm blaming you for what I am doing, and so there for, even if you can prove that is what I am doing, you and I are still doing the same thing."

This is the fear of FEAR. This is how political entities can declare war on "Terror", an unknown entity with limitless reach, and limitless means, and give a President, congressional authority to use his power where and when he or she sees fit.

This may seem as a dig to the current administration, it is not. They are using, simply what is within their grasp and means to combat a delicate and difficult geopolitical situation. However, the law should never have been available in the first place. Donald Rumsfield so eloquently put it(adjusting the paraphrase), "There are known knowns. There are also Unknown Unknowns."

This might be the clearest example of concise political manipulation we have ever seen. I don't mean that figuratively. It has been boiled down to a science. And yet, because it is so profoundly obtuse, most people would never bother to decipher it's cryptic, disgusting meanings Basically, "I can say what I want, and make it true, as long as you don't know that's what i'm trying to say, and even if you do, it doesn't matter, because you couldn't have possibly known what I was saying was the truth or not, especially if I a contradict it at every turn, but also acknowledge it at the same time." And there we have the current political modus operandi.  This, unknowingly, even between the politicians and journalist that practice it, serve a simple corporate agenda. To Thrive. Which is inherent in every human being. But if we're all on the same boat, and everyone is sinking, what good is it going to be if you're the last one to drown?

This question, however unfortunate, is not the one best suited to human nature, or survival, period, unfortunately. But human nature, and human fortitude are two very different things. Faced with ultimate eradication, we come together. We always have. How to recognize our own demise then, in a society has been conditioned to yearn for a slow boil? We disseminate our endless supply of information and use it to apply our own volition. It really does come down to our own choice as a species.

Loss

Last year some friends came together and shot a short film called Running Up That Hill. It's about the affects of losing those close to us.

Loss, for better or worse, irrevocably changes us forever and may be our greatest challenge as human beings. It's never pretty, and it's always personal.

People often say that there is just nothing that can be said. We all share it, but no one can truly understand your experience, or take it away. Loss will change you, time will change it, and eventually, "People will make it better."

Here is that film once again. A look into the honest experience of a few individuals, grieving, searching, and tested by loss.

A Profoundly Sick Society

Here's the deal Americans.. I'm not overly elated with this big feeling of a Win today. I wish I was.. But the truth is, that campaign should never have existed. 8 Billion dollars to secure a winner??? It could have been either one. Romney could very well have been President. You have to look at why it costs 8 billion dollars to secure your vote. It's seriously a problem, and it should make you lo
ok at how you've been used to service this process. All the ad money, public surveying, and shifting opinions throughout, while watching closely the overall consensus of the American people.

They are giving you, what you want.. And it's terrible, manipulative brain washing.

So, here's how you fix it. Educate yourself. Eat, good, healthy, hopefully local food. Invest your time, voice and money into renewable resources. You'd be surprised how big a difference it makes when you buy simple soap vs chemical cleaners. Don't watch reality TV. Good, quality entertainment is key to our social state of mind, because it informs us and tells the rest of the country where our interests lie...Be vocal and active! And support a competitive marketplace. This is how you turn your personal health, the state of the economy and a completely screwed up political system around. If you haven't figured out why all of that connects, then you haven't done enough of the first step.

If we unite in a common way of life. A healthy mind and body, coupled with a strengthened and competitive market, we as a society will unite. "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted in a profoundly sick society." We have a consumption disease. We consume all things bad for our body, environment, and mind.. Stop doing that.

The Presidential Race

We have it within our capacity to develop our earthly nations renewably. But not by maintaining the status quo, or worse... Continuing poor harvesting practices for coal and oil. Romney loves Coal. He wants to get coal cities back on track. Let us never mind the sordid history of disease, poverty, labor and union disputes; or men who put their lives on the line while cities go bankrupt. Then, there's oil. Lets drill in Alaska and the Arctic. Never mind the BP Oil spill was less than 2 years ago and oil companies themselves admit to not having the resources to manage catastrophes that potentially cause thousands of years of environmental disaster.

Now, I would like to address Governor Romney’s 5 point plan for economic equanimity. 1st, Old energy harnessing practices. We have a man before us,
who has made absolutely no clear, official statement on what his policy is regarding energy, or environment, short of, "I'm all for clean energy, and clean coal, and clean oil, and clean.... ... """  What is "Clean Coal" exactly? It is coal burning with carbon and capture storage that they say is 90% less harmful than current practices. Carbon capture and Storage is a term used to propagate company’s usage and safeguarding of coal underground to limit co2 emissions. It does not necessitate the means within whereby coal is harvested and byproducts disposed. There's a lot of land to dig through before coal, "fossil fuel", can be extracted. And that land is disposed of as a waste, in water sources. And these lands where within we harvest this "clean coal" does not grow back. It is the literal antithesis of renewable... But yes, a convenient short term energy supply, unless you live the Appalachians.

2nd, imports to South America. America’s number one import to South America is machinery. And I want to be clear; it’s very specific machinery. South American deforestation has risen by a factor of 20% in the last 10 years. During that time South American exports to America have increased in equal measure. 40% of their total exports are to America. South America is also on the verge of building the second largest hydroelectric dam in the world under largely big business American influence. This dam will displace some 20,000 indigenous people, and cause deforestation and flooding, down the length of the 1,230 mile river. Without proper disposal of the land and due to its highly humid climate, this will cause a methane release into the atmosphere that is unheard of. Methane is 20 times more effective at trapping heat in the atmosphere than that of carbon dioxide. Extinction of endangered species as well as widespread disease will be the result. These business positions are highly lucrative for America, for the short term, but do nothing for the sanctity of the land, or the safeguarding of it’s people, nor does it help an economically challenged South America. Governor Romney lastly champions small business. What he means by “small business” is tax cuts for large business with “small business” subsidiaries. As for his education plan… Umm.. He doesn’t have one.

We are a fortunate and wealthy society. Even with our economic decline, we consume more than any nation ever in the history of our species; immeasurably more in the last Century. Politically, we think it ok to balk at a leader investing in renewable energy, an emerging, overlooked science. Go back! We say.. That's what worked before.. That's what made us rich. When these energy consortiums fail, we say, No More!! We need that Money. What money? Our Fiat Currency is backed by nothing. Either we find a cheaper resource to feed us, or the worlds economy will collapse. There is no looking back. We are a joint nation of the world whether we acknowledge it or not and the future is grim. Choose your leaders wisely.. Observe their motives, intentions, and their integrity, because a nation, in this critical time, which does not look to its everlasting future, may be the cause of its global destruction. Nations rise and fall, they have throughout history. However, what we face now, is a matter global balance, and the United States plays the largest hand. It only took 4.5 Billion years for intelligence to evolve here... It'd be an awful thing to waste.
